Recognizing this opportunity, EXPOPRO organized a strategic seminar titled “Manufacturing Modest Fashion Wear: Bangladesh’s Gateway to the Global Halal Apparel Market” on Saturday, 15 March 2025, at Club 89, Gulshan,  Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was followed by an Iftar session, fostering networking and collaboration among industry professionals. Unlocking Bangladesh’s Potential in the Halal Apparel Market With the global modest fashion industry projected to surpass $375 billion by 2025, Bangladesh, one of the world’s largest garment manufacturers, has a significant opportunity to expand its footprint in the halal fashion segment. The seminar provided a strategic platform to discuss how Bangladesh can position itself as a leading supplier of halal-certified modest fashion garments, including abayas, hijabs, tunics, and Islamic wear.

Distinguished guests included: a) Anis Wajdi Bin Mohd Yousuf, Counsellor of the High Commission of Malaysia to Bangladesh (Chief Guest), b) Rozaimee Abdullah, First Secretary of the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam to Bangladesh (Special Guests), c) Representatives from the Embassy of Algeria, to Bangladesh, d) Syed Moazzam Hossain, President of the Australia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ABCCI), e) Enamul Haque Patwary, Director, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI). Speaking at the event as the Keynote presenter, Md. Mamunur Rahman, Founder & CEO of EXPOPRO, stated: “The modest fashion industry is experiencing exponential growth worldwide, and Bangladesh is in a prime position to become a global hub for halal-certified apparel. Recognized as the world’s largest halal exhibition, MIHAS 2025 will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and innovators from diverse sectors, including food & beverages, modest fashion, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, Islamic finance, and digital solutions. The seminar highlighted MIHAS as a strategic gateway for Bangladeshi businesses to expand their footprint in the global halal market, offering unparalleled opportunities for networking, business matchmaking, and showcasing Bangladesh’s capabilities in halal-certified apparel and other industries to an international audience.





Successful Roundtable Discussion by EXPOPRO Highlights the Potentials of Halal Tourism in Bangladesh

On the 20th of March, 2024, a significant event was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, organized by EXPOPRO, the Center for Business Development and Communications. The “Halal in Tourism: Prospects and Opportunities for Bangladesh” Roundtable Discussion brought together key figures and organizations. This gathering was made possible in collaboration with the Bangladesh Halal Development Forum (BHDF) and support by Stryke.com.bd. The event was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Her Excellency Haznah Md. Hashim, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Special Guest was Md. Rais Hasan Sarowar, ndc, the Director General of the Regional Organizations Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, People’s Republic of Bangladesh. 

 

The roundtable discussion was moderated by Md Mamunur Rahman, the Founder and CEO of EXPOPRO, who also presented the keynote paper. The event was attended by numerous esteemed guests, among them Md. Ariful Hoque, Director General of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA); Abdus Salam Aref, President of the Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB); Shiblul Azam Koreshi, President of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), and Salauddin Yousuf, Chairman of the FBCCI Standing Committee on Halal Foods. Enamul Haque Patwary, the Convenor of BHDF, delivered the concluding remarks and vote of thanks. The meeting culminated in an Iftar and dinner, marking a successful and meaningful discussion.
